VIDEO SUPPORT GROUP FILM SCHOOL

For the months of April and May, 13 East Tulane Road will host a series of lectures, workshops and reading groups dedicated to the theory and practice of video and filmmaking. The topics are wide-ranging and the artists presenting are amazing! We hope that you will join us. Below is an outline of the April schedule.

April 6
VIDEO SUPPORT GROUP MEETING
8-10PM
Video Support Group is a regular meeting of artists to watch and discuss each other's work. Please come to share a video (it can be a work-in-progress or a finished piece) or simply come to join the discussion.

April 13
VIDEO EDITING SUPPORT with COLIN MCDONALD
8-10PM
Colin will cover some video editing basics and Final Cut tricks.

APRIL 15
RANCIERE READING GROUP with RICKY CRANO
8-10PM
Ricky will lead us through a close reading of a few chapters of The Future of the Image and The Emancipated Spectator. We will have pdfs of the chapters available soon.

APRIL 20
7:30-9:00PM
SUBMITTING TO FILM/VIDEO FESTIVALS with MIKE OLENICK
MikeO will share his experience and tips for submitting work to festivals and exhibitions.
Mike O's most recent work, Spaceboy (2009), will be screening along with Nobuhiko Obayashi's House (1977) at the Wexner Center: April 2 + April 3 at 7:00 and 9:00PM.

APRIL 22

RANCIERE READING GROUP with RICKY CRANO
The followup to the April 15 discussion.

APRIL 24

JENNIFER REEDER
Jennifer Reeder writes the best stories! and she will share her practice with us on April 24!
Jennifer's Seven Songs about Thunder is presently screening at festivals across the country - and was recently awarded best narrative at the 2010 Ann Arbor Film Festival.
